1. What information do we collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
In short: we collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our Services, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us.
Personal information provided by you. The personal information we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the features you use. It may include:
- names and email addresses;
- contact or authentication data, including passwords (held by our sign-in provider, never by us in readable form);
- your workspace and team details: workspace names, members, roles and invitations;
- images and design inputs you upload, and the text prompts you write;
- the canvases, projects, comments, messages and share links you create, and the images, videos and 3D models generated for you;
- photographs you upload to train a style of your own;
- addresses you type to look up a site;
- what you write to us in a form or an email.
Information others give us about you. If a team Admin or a sponsor invites you to Jimin, we receive your email address from them to send the invitation.
Our Rhino plugin. If you use the Jimin plugin for Rhino, the models, views and files it sends are handled like any other upload.
Sensitive information. We do not process sensitive information.
Payment data. Subscriptions and credit packs are sold and processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. Your card number and security code go to Stripe and never reach us; we keep the record of your plan, your credit and your purchases. You can find Stripe's privacy notice at stripe.com/privacy.
Social login data. You may register with your Google account. If you do, we receive certain profile information about you from Google, as described in "How do we handle your social logins?" below.
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
Information automatically collected
In short: some information, such as your IP address and browser and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you use our Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, country, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal reporting purposes. The information we collect includes:
- Log and usage data: the service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers record when you use the Services, such as your IP address, browser type, the date and time of your requests, and the features you use, including a record of each run you start.
- Device data: information about the computer, phone, or tablet you use to access the Services, such as browser type, operating system, and system configuration.
When you send us a form, we keep only a one-way, salted hash of your IP address, to limit abuse; we do not store the address itself.
Google API
Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. How do we process your information?
In short: we process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes only with your prior explicit consent.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and sign in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.
- To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user. We process your inputs to generate the images, videos, 3D models and answers you ask for, and to store and sync your work.
- To respond to user inquiries and offer support. We may process your information to respond to your inquiries and solve any issues you might have with the Services.
- To send administrative information to you. We may process your information to send you details about your account, invitations, changes to our terms and policies, and other similar information.
- To fulfill and manage your purchases. We may process your information to manage your plan, credit, purchases and invoices.
- To enable user-to-user communications. We may process your information if you use features that let you communicate with other users, such as comments, messages, and shared canvases.
- To protect our Services. We may process your information as part of our efforts to keep our Services safe and secure, including rate limits, fraud monitoring and prevention, and the content filters that block adult content.
- To develop and improve AI models, from Free workspaces only. We may use work made in a Free workspace to train and improve AI models, as described in "AI training." We never do this with the work of a paid workspace.
- To identify usage trends. We may process information about how you use our Services to better understand how they are being used so we can improve them.
- To save or protect an individual's vital interest. We may process your information when necessary to save or protect an individual's vital interest, such as to prevent harm.
3. What legal bases do we rely on to process your information?
In short: we only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (a legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
Where the law of the place you live requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on performing our contract with you (providing the Services you signed up for), our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Services (including training AI models on Free workspaces' work, which you agree to when you make an account), compliance with our legal obligations, and, where we ask for it, your consent.
If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.
We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:
- if collection is clearly in the interests of an individual and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way;
- for investigations and fraud detection and prevention;
- for business transactions provided certain conditions are met;
- if it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim;
- for identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin;
- if we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse;
- if it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province;
- if disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records;
- if it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced;
- if the collection is solely for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes;
- if the information is publicly available and is specified by the regulations;
- we may disclose de-identified information for approved research or statistics projects, subject to ethics oversight and confidentiality commitments.
4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?
In short: we may share information in specific situations described in this section and with the following categories of third parties.
Vendors, consultants, and other third-party service providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ("third parties") who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. The categories of third parties we may share personal information with are:
- AI model providers, which process your prompts and images to produce images, video, 3D models and text;
- cloud computing, website hosting and data storage providers;
- our payment processor, which sells our subscriptions and credit packs as merchant of record;
- user account registration and authentication services, which also deliver our account emails;
- web search services, when you ask the assistant to research something;
- map, geocoding and public land-records services, which receive the address you type when you look up a site.
We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
- Your workspace and the people you share with. Work you create in a team workspace is visible to that workspace's members, and anything you share by link is visible to the people who have the link.
- Business transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In short: we use only the cookies and browser storage the Services need to work. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary: our sign-in provider's session cookies, which keep you signed in and protect your account, and an access cookie on our own administration pages. We also use your browser's storage to keep your canvases on your device and to remember your preferences, such as your theme and layout.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to place tracking or advertising technologies on our Services.
6. Do we offer artificial intelligence-based products?
In short: we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies.
As part of our Services, we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies (collectively, "AI Products"). The terms in this Privacy Notice govern your use of the AI Products within our Services.
Use of AI technologies
We provide the AI Products through third-party AI model providers ("AI Service Providers"). As outlined in this Privacy Notice, your input, output, and personal information will be shared with and processed by these AI Service Providers to enable your use of our AI Products, for the purposes outlined in "When and with whom do we share your personal information?" You must not use the AI Products in any way that violates the terms or policies of any AI Service Provider.
Our AI Products
Our AI Products are designed for the following functions:
- image generation and editing, including region fills;
- video generation;
- 3D model generation, from images or from text;
- image upscaling, segmentation, background removal and object removal;
- an AI assistant that answers questions, helps write prompts, and researches references on the web;
- training a style from photographs you upload.
How we process your data using AI
A style you train is trained only from the photographs you upload, for your own use, and is kept until you delete it. Results are stored in our own storage, not left with the AI Service Providers. All personal information processed using our AI Products is handled in line with this Privacy Notice and our agreements with third parties.
AI training
- Free workspaces. If you use Jimin in a Free workspace, we may use the images and designs you upload, the prompts you write, and the results generated for you to train, evaluate and improve AI models, including our own. We remove account details such as your name and email address from this material before we use it. You agree to this when you make an account, and you are told so on the sign-up screen.
- Paid workspaces. We never use the work of a workspace on a paid plan (Pro, Studio, Enterprise, Education, or a partner arrangement) to train AI models. Work you make in a team's paid workspace is covered even if your own workspace is on the Free plan.
- Upgrading. Once your workspace moves to a paid plan, its new work is no longer used. Work made while it was on the Free plan may already have been used.
- Deleting. When you delete a piece of work or your account, it is left out of any future training. A model that has already been trained on it cannot be untrained.
- Other people's material. Do not upload a client's or employer's confidential or unreleased project to a Free workspace unless you are authorized to share it; use a paid workspace for that work.
We do not sell your work, and we do not give it to anyone else to train their models.
7. How do we handle your social logins?
In short: if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive certain information about you from Google.
Our Services let you register and sign in with your Google account. When you do, we receive certain profile information about you from Google: usually your name, email address, and profile picture.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or otherwise made clear to you on the Services. We do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by Google. We recommend that you review Google's privacy notice to understand how it collects, uses, and shares your personal information, and how you can set your privacy preferences.
8. Is your information transferred internationally?
In short: we may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.
Our servers are located in the United States and in other countries where our hosting provider operates. Regardless of your location, your information may be transferred to, stored by, and processed by us and by the third parties with whom we share your personal information (see "When and with whom do we share your personal information?" above), in the United States and other countries.
The countries your information is transferred to may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable law. We do not currently offer the Services to people in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and we do not market them there.
9. How long do we keep your information?
In short: we keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice, unless otherwise required by law.
We keep your account information and your work for as long as you have an account with us, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). When you delete your account, we delete your work and your account information from our active systems. Copies may remain in our backups for up to 45 days before they are overwritten.
What you send us through the waitlist or contact forms is kept until you ask us to delete it; deleting your account does not remove it, so email us if you would like it removed.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because it has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store it and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
10. How do we keep your information safe?
In short: we aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
11. Do we collect information from minors?
In short: the Services are not for children under 15.
The Services are intended for people who are at least 15 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or market to, children under 15, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and you represent that you have it. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 15, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete that data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from a child under 15, please contact us at support@jimin.studio.
12. What are your privacy rights?
In short: depending on your state of residence in the US, or in some regions such as Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
In some regions (like Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure, (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information, (iv) if applicable, to data portability, and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. If a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means, we will inform you, explain the main factors, and offer a simple way to request human review. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. You can make such a request by contacting us using the details in "How can you contact us about this notice?" below.
We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Withdrawing your consent: if we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, by contacting us using the details in "How can you contact us about this notice?" below. This will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal, nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect processing conducted in reliance on lawful grounds other than consent.
Marketing communications: we do not send marketing emails today. If we do in the future, every one will carry an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by contacting us. We may still send you service-related messages that are necessary for the administration and use of your account.
Account information
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account, download your data, or terminate your account, you can:
- sign in and open Settings → Profile, where you can update your account, choose Download My Data to save a copy of your work, or choose Delete Account to erase it;
- contact us using the contact information below.
Deleting your account erases your work and account information from our active systems. Two things are handled separately: the record our sign-in provider keeps for your login, and anything you sent through the waitlist or contact forms. Email us and we will remove those too. If you are the only Admin of a team, you will be asked to hand the team over, or delete it, first. We may retain some information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms, and/or comply with applicable legal requirements, such as our records of purchases.
Cookies and similar technologies: most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually set your browser to remove or reject cookies. Because the cookies we use are needed to sign you in, rejecting them will prevent you from using your account.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at support@jimin.studio.
13. Controls for Do-Not-Track features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. We do not track you across other websites in any case. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
14. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?
In short: if you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about the personal information we maintain about you and how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, get a copy of, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.

We do not claim ownership of your content. The extent of your rights to use outputs commercially is governed by your plan, as described in our Terms of Service.
